To me, this is nothing short of a jaw-dropping, practically cinematic moment.

As Mr. Holbrooke was sedated for surgery, family members said, his final words were to his Pakistani surgeon: “You’ve got to stop this war in Afghanistan.”
Forget talking points, triangulation strategies and putting a good face on a rotten situation. One of the most respected ambassadors in our country’s history, laying on his literal death bed, had one thing to say. We need to stop this War.
