Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Vote

Today in the Senate the vote to repeal a national embarrassment known as the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” Policy will take place.

We will have a post when the vote count comes in. If this topic is important to you – please check out our podcast on the subject here.

*UPDATE – Looks like its not happening. The filibuster-proof of 60 votes won’t happen and the policy will remain. Story here. According to AP, Susan Collins of Maine was the one vote Harry Reid was counting on, but it didn’t fall through. Perhaps Lady Gaga will come out the most clean.

This is bad for the country, bad for civil rights, bad for the GOP and really bad for Obama and Reid. The President could (and should) write and sign an executive order repealing this bill. Forget bipartisanship on this one, common sense and decency should come first.
