Advice to the President

Garry Wills is a Pulitzer prize winning author who writes very dense books about American politics and religion (Jeff is a HUGE fan). A very thoughtful writer and, in my mind, a very patriotic one.

Which makes this short piece he wrote entitled Obama’s Legacy: Afghanistan all the more devastating. Wills mentions that he and eight other historians had dinner with the President (off-the-record of course) last June and, while not getting too specific, Wills reports that he others stressed that if the President pursues more war in Afghanistan it will break his presidency like Vietnam broke Johnson’s.

This is a MUST READ for everyone.
