Commercials imitating Film

This Levi’s commercial was directed by John Hillcoat (The Road, The Proposition). It’s a wonderfully shot, beautifully composed ad. But if you’ve seen The New World directed by Terrence Malick, as I have, this comes off as downright thievery. I’ll let you decide (see below) The music is Richard Wagner’s “Vorspiel” from Das Rheingold, also used in the opening/closing of The New World.
