For our California Readers

We do no technically endorse on The Regimen.

BUT…if you are voting today in the California primary we feel that the ballot Proposition 14 is a very, very good thing.

In short, the proposal (if approved) will require that candidates run in a single primary open to all registered voters, with the top two vote-getters meeting in a runoff. The new system would take effect in the 2012 elections. It could (and we think would) get rid of the stranglehold that the two big parties have on our elected offices and give independent / moderate candidates a better chance of getting elected.

The results will be in tonight.
