The Financial Regulation Bill, sponsored by the Senate Finance Committee (Chairman Chris Dodd specifically) reached the floor today and failed to meet the veto-proof vote of 60 to start the floor debate. The Bill has stopped proceeding. All Senate Republicans refused to allow debate of the bill. Despite the fact polls show a good majority of Americans are in favor of stricter financial regulations after the 2008 collapse.
I’m dying to see what the approval of Congress will be next month. Pathetic. Harry Reid will get the blame for this one. His re-election just got a whole lot tougher.
