What’s in a billion?

Food for thought. To get through the Senate, some bills (as we have seen this whole year with Health Care) are very hard and include amendments and committee votes and negotiations and constant back room meetings and Senators taking what they call principled stands while others think they’re delaying process. Lot of tempers, lots of egos, lots of hot air for an attempt to help get health care to those who don’ t have it / can’t afford it.

And some bills get votes really quickly despite the price tag.

I mean is $636 billion for defense spending in one year really worth much discussion and headlines? CNN story here.
