Two ‘Road’ trailers

First off, I want to proclaim I’m the first in the entire internet world to scoop this. Which is a) a bold statement and b) an incredibly sad statement.

Below are two trailers: the latest for The Road (Nov 25th) and Road to Perdition (2002). And if you take a watch, they are both incredibly similar, almost to a plagiarizing degree. The music, the cast cards, the final slow-motion shot of the father hugging his son.  Granted, the films’ plots are somewhat the same, basically a “father / son on a journey” story.  Both feature an established icon in a supporting role (Newman / Duvall). But the genres are so completely different. And I’d say the Road to Perdition trailer somewhat resembles the film’s tone, while The Road trailer couldn’t be more different from the film (review coming soon). Take a look.

  1. As far as the trailer for “The Road” is concerned, I have only one response: WTF?!

  2. I don’t think it’s a bad trailer, per se, it just completely misrepresents the film.
