The Death Panels Effect

Kate Pickert reports in Time Magazine that senior citizens and AARP, the 40 million-member group that represents them, are clashing about Health Care. In fact 60,000 members have quit since July because if its reform stance. Two reasons:

GOP understands this. That’s why Michael Steele wrote and op-ed in The Washington Post entitled “Protecting Our Seniors”, plus they are advocating a “Senior’s Bill of Rights” with TV ads to boot.

AARP is still a key support of Health Care Reform, but expect the back-and-forth arguments in the next few weeks (months?) to be centered around seniors. The President loses them, this fight is over.
